Web Developer - WordPress (Mid/Senior)

You'll develop and design our new site.

We’re looking for an experienced , all-round Wordpress Developer to develop a brand new site for our company. Brytlyt, established in 2013, is a well-funded Data Analytics scale-up with an ever expanding team. The role would could start out as full-time for a 3-month period and then move to part-time 4 days a month. We are flexible about this and we can discuss the number of days per week. Therefore, it would suit a freelance developer or someone in-between contracts. Our Tech Hub is based in Warsaw, Poland, and Sales & Marketing and Senior Management is in the UK.

You will be work on our website and build custom plugins to extend its functionality. You will also be building the Wordpress theme from scratch as a part of the rebranding strategy across the business. There are no external clients, you will be working with our in-house marketing team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Developing our new WordPress website
  • Build custom plugins and provide new solutions
  • Build WordPress themes from scratch
  • Take the lead on the project and provide an insight to the delivery of the project
  • Participate in all Agile scenarios such as: planning, demo, retro, reviews and refinement sessions
  • Structure data implementation in line with Google guidelines
  • Build email templates and landing pages
  • Support our in-house digital marketing and PR teams with formatting and troubleshooting

Our Expectation for the ideal candidate

  • Mid/Senior level Knowledge and Experience with Wordpress
  • Mid/Senior level Knowledge and Experience in JavaScript, SASS, HTML (custom plugs in and themes)
  • Write unit tests and debug WordPress plugin/setups
  • Experience developing custom themes and responsive websites from designs
